What are microplastics?

Microplastics are small pieces, less than a quarter of an inch, of plastic found in nature as a result of plastics pollution. Microplastics are a result of plastics in cosmetics, clothing, those plastic bags from the grocery store, cup lids, straws, and more.

WHY STRAWS?

It’s not JUST straws.

Straws, consumed at a rate of 1.6 straws per person per day, are an easy target for reducing single-use plastic pollution especially when so many alternatives exist including skipping the straw altogether, using a plastic alternative like metal, silicone, or paper.
