Lunch & Learn: Mayoral Candidate Panel

Join green|spaces for our monthly lunch & learn! This month, we are excited to present a panel of Mayoral Candidates to answer your questions about their sustainability related plans for the City of Chattanooga!

*green|spaces is a non-partisan organization and does not endorse any political candidate.

All candidates have been invited to participate and currently, those joining green|spaces are the following listed in alphabetical order: (the list will be updated as we receive confirmations)


Monty Bruell is a native Chattanoogan who grew up in Alton Park and East Chattanooga. He is committed to transforming our city into one that works for all people, regardless of race, gender, neighborhood, or socio-economic status.  Monty is focused on closing income and wealth gaps, revitalizing neighborhoods, and creating opportunities that will allow all families to be successful.

Mr. Dahl wants to fight corruption and fraud waste and abuse of tax dollars. He plans to do so by making sure that the city upholds policy and complies with the EPA Consent Decree.

Tim Kelly is a proven leader in the nonprofit and business community, and is committed to building a city that works for everybody.

He is chairman of the Chattanooga Football Club, and he owns, co-owns, founded and/or operates Chattanooga Brewing Company, SocialBot, Workshop, Kelly Subaru and Southern Honda Powersports.

He has served on the boards for the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Chattanooga, the Benwood Foundation, River City Company, Allied Arts (now ArtsBuild), Chattanooga 2.0, and the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga, among others.

Andrew McLaren, born in New York City, was a young adult in Manhattan on September 11th, 2001. Like many others, it was an experience that not only widened his perspective but changed the very course of his life. After 9/11, and inspired by those around him, Andrew committed to live a life of servant leadership and example. 


Twenty years later, Andrew has not veered off course as he continues to serve so many in the Chattanooga community. Andrew’s unique, hands on leadership style, coupled with his innovative ideas, and genuine care for people makes Andrew McLaren the clear choice for Chattanooga.

Keith Smartt was born and raised right here in Chattanooga. Graduated from Brainerd High C/O 93, he joined the Navy gave them 21 years. After that, It was time to come home. For the last 10 years he has been researching and studying. Getting ready for this time. IT'S TIME to bring a balance to our city.
