History
The Sustainability Professionals of Greater Chattanooga started as a breakfast meeting in which a handful of local sustainability experts traded ideas and contact information. These experts served as the point person for green initiatives within their company, nonprofit. or government organization, and were glad to have camaraderie of likeminded professionals. As an increasing number of companies saw the value of investing talented individuals' time into green goals, the size of the group grew. Collectively, the group decided through voting and multiple input sessions that the informal roundtable could serve a greater purpose as a membership-based "home” for people who make sustainability not only a passion, but also a career.

Monthly Roundtable Meetings held monthly on the 2nd Friday @ 8:30am

Discounted green|spaces membership, including access to our green|light program
*We are currently pausing these programs until 2025 as we review and update the curriculum. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to providing an enhanced experience when the program resumes.
Yearly Membership Fee: $100
Expectations
We encourage members to attend as many events as they can, but SPGC asks that members commit to attending at least one event per quarter. Members should have good standing in the field of sustainability and have experience in a recognized area relating to protecting, preserving, promoting, or improving our environment. Members should also adhere to the following professional code of conduct:
May not give out contact information of members to any person or organization without member consent.
May not use meeting to inappropriately promote products, services, or events. All request for promotion should be sent to spgc.contact@gmail.com
May not discuss member or organization-specific challenges or issues outside Members-Only Roundtable Breakfast sessions.
Apply
Membership is extended to anyone who has sustainability as part of their professional roles and responsibilities. This may entail folks who ensure that their company, non-profit, or government agency is meeting measurable goals, maintaining third party certifications, and engaging employees in sustainability programs. These members are an important piece of any sustainability market transformation, providing the services needed to make sustainability mainstream.
