About The Speaker:
Kurt Martig is a Tree Enthusiast and seasoned Landscape Architect, bringing over 16 years of experience to his work. He started his career at WMWA Landscape Architecture and now works at city of Chattanooga in the Development Resource Center.
Originally from northeast Ohio, Kurt's love for nature was cultivated in the forests, creeks, and fields near his childhood home. After a transformative year in Italy as a Rotary Exchange Student, he pursued a degree in landscape architecture from The Ohio State University.
Following graduation, Kurt spent a decade living and working in New York City before settling in Portland, Oregon, for five years. It was in Portland where he became involved with Rotary, eventually leading to the creation of the Rotary Tree Towns project in Chattanooga with the Nooga Night Rotary Club.
Kurt met his wife Melissa in Brooklyn, New York, and they welcomed their daughter, Camelia, during their time in Portland. In his free time, Kurt enjoys cooking, daydreaming about skiing, and obsessing over Ohio State football.
